Dear Members and Friends,

Welcome to the Sanaton Association’s 2011 Durga Puja-Diwali Celebration.

I am sure you are well aware that a few years ago we bought a residential property in east London as a bold investment for the future.  We had hoped that this residential property would appreciate in value, enabling us to use the return on the investment to finally set up our long awaited temple and community centre.

Unfortunately, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.  Since we purchased the property, we have entered into a global recession, with UK property prices in particular being stifled. Nevertheless, our community remains desperately in need of its own temple and community centre. We should not keep them waiting any longer.

In my letter to you last year, I mentioned that “my aspiration and mission, to one day build a Sanaton Temple, is both an important and emotional issue”.  I feel that time has now arrived.  Our members and trustees are ready to take responsibility and create their own temple environment with devotional songs, prayers with incense sticks, rhythms of drums, cymbals, conch and dongs.  With this in mind, the Sanaton Association committee has decided to start our search for a suitable location for our temple without further delay.

I cannot stress enough, in order for our vision of a Sanaton Temple to succeed; the Sanaton Association will need your full support over the coming year, mentally, financially and spiritually.  But with your co-operation, your strength and your courage, I am confident that our dream will finally be realised.
